Update (01-09-20): The family returned to Mansehra the same night. Here is the message from my colleague on what happened:
Update (21-07-20): Message from my colleague, “SKMH advised for the tissue biopsy outside the hospital. The patient’s right arm also got broken due to bone disease. Now please recommend any lab for biopsy test and doc for arm fracture. Thanks”
Update (21-07-20): The feedback received is as follows:
SA: I have been through the admission procedure. It is initiated only when you visit the outdoor ward. The admission/registration and consultation with the concerned oncologist is done after that, upon recommendation of outdoor. The consultation after being registered takes two weeks. It is unlike other hospitals where you just walk in and get an appointment with a doctor. References don’t work, unfortunately.

The following message is from a colleague in STC, who knows this family and had recommend them to visit Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Lahore:
This family with the patient is currently at the entrance of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital after traveling for more than 10 hours. They reached Lahore early morning, around 5 am to 6 am. They are not being admitted and they are unable to receive any guidance. If anyone has any reference in the hospital who can just guide them then it would be of great help.
“Dear brothers, Please support for a patient in Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Lahore if anyone has a reference there. They need only guidance and support in admission. This is sadqa jaria and Allah Subhanhu Taala will award you with blessings to help that family in this critical situation. If anyone has a reference to guide them and support them in admission. Jazakallah Kher”
