Update (02-05-20): 60 families have been supported so far. Alhumdulillah, another Rs 21,100 have been collected and transferred to my father’s account. JazakAllah khair for your contributions.

Update (07-04-20): The initial plan was to support each family completely but as the situation worsened, only groceries for food were provided to the affected families. In this way, around 35 families were supported for a month from the previously collected donations. Another Rs 50,000 were required to support around 15 more families. Alhumdulillah, required Rs 50,000 have been collected and transferred to my father’s account. JazakAllah khair for your contributions.

Update (27-03-20): Yesterday, 3 more affected families have approached my father, who have lost their means of earning due to the lockdown. The requirement is Rs 500 per day per family to support these families for basic necessities for 1 month, thus making a total of Rs 45,000 (Rs 500 x 30 days x 3 families). Rs 7,895 were in the surplus from the previously collected donations thus a total of Rs 37,105 (SAR 889) is required at the moment. Zakat is also applicable on these families. My father is handling the cash and groceries for these families, he has explained the management of donations in his Urdu voice msg, available below:

Update (24-03-20): Alhumdulillah, another Rs 50,605 have been collected and transferred to my father’s account. JazakAllah khair for your contributions.

Update (24-03-20): 3 more affected families have approached my father, who have lost their means of earning due to the lockdown. They were looking for financial support for buying flour and groceries and paying bills. The requirement is Rs 500 per day per family to support these families for basic necessities for 1 month, thus making a total of Rs 45,000 (Rs 500 x 30 days x 3 families) SAR 1,109. My father will handle the cash and will arrange floor and other necessities for these families. His voice msg in Urdu is available below:

Update (23-03-20): Alhumdulillah, Rs 62,290 have been collected and transferred to my father’s account. JazakAllah khair for your contributions.

The following text was published on 23rd March 2020:

The breadwinners of these families are daily wagers, who have lost their work temporarily due to the lockdown implemented in Multan. One person was working in a market that has been shut down, another person was working in the Multan Industrial Estate, the whole area has been locked down and has been transformed into the largest quarantine center in Pakistan. Another person was working at the Multan International Airport, which has been shut down as well.

The requirement is Rs 500 per day per family to support these families for basic necessities for 1 month, thus making a total of Rs 60,000 (Rs 500 x 30 days x 4 families) SAR 1,478. My father will handle the cash and will arrange wheat and other necessities for these families. Compilation of his voice msgs in Urdu is available below:

      Waliqumaslam, Zakat k liye each family ka current financial status chk krna pare ga, so sadqa is safe but alhumdulillah most of amount is already gathered

      Waliqumaslam, it will require checking the financial status of each family but I will ask my father to do it for the future cases, the required amount has been gathered, alhumdulillah
