The following message is from a friend of my cousin, who lives in Islamabad and has been supporting this project on yearly basis:
This is a private orphanage in Samejabad, Multan. It is a two-story rented house with 15 orphan children and 6 staff members. On the ground floor, the living room has been converted into a classroom with tables, chairs and a TV. The same tables are used as dining tables at the time of the meals. All meals are homecooked and are prepared in the kitchen by a cook. Two rooms are available for the girls with 11 single beds. A cold drinking water cooler is available in the garage. The boys sleep in the courtyard of the roof at night where a desert cooler has been arranged. Two rooms with five mattresses on the floor are available on the roof for the boys. A laundry facility with a washing machine and a washroom is available in the courtyard of the roof. A worker comes to wash the clothes. The children are from various parts of the country including Shujabad, Chucha Sharif, Khairpur and Pir Ghaib.
Every year we arrange meat of a cow for the children and staff members of this orphanage on Eid ul Adha. We deliver half to the meat to the orphanage on Eid day and we freeze the remaining meat, which is delivered when the previous meat is consumed and we are notified by the orphanage management. We have established a connection with a barn near Lalazar, Rawalpindi where we book a cow in advance to save cost. The cost of the cow this year is Rs 70,000 (SAR 1,594).
