Sponsor a Syrian Orphan Child in Lebanon
READ Foundation has established a school in Lebanon where they are educating Syrian Refugees Children, including orphan children.
If you would like to take the sponsorship of a Syrian orphan child then We Care Foundation is running a fundraising campaign. The following message is from my university class fellow, who knows this foundation personally:
Syrian orphans need you love – Fundraising Dinner – 27th April 2019
We Care Foundation – UK registered charity 1178859.
Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this,” putting his index and middle fingers together.
Sahih al-Bukhari – Book 78, Hadith 36
No doubt we all understand the importance of looking after orphans in Islam. However, we become so busy in our lives that we forget that children without parents desperately need our love and support. As much as some of us would love to, we can’t completely protect them from the harsh reality of this world. But one thing we can do is to support them with education.
We have pledged to look after 20 Syrian orphans this year and have partnered with Read Foundation, a registered UK charity, who has promised to support us and ensure your donation reaches the neediest and vulnerable for the whole year.
It only costs £360 for the whole year to provide food, clothes and education to one orphan child. That’s only £1.00 a day. Literally, nothing compared to the amount we spend every day on ourselves.
We all love and protect our own children, and sometimes we find it challenging. However, the real challenge is looking after someone else’s child. And that is where the ultimate blessing lies.
If you would like more information on how you can change the life of a child or if you would like to attend the fundraising dinner on the 27th April at 7pm please get in touch ASAP.

Sponsor Education of a Syrian Child in Aleppo, Syria
The following message has been extracted from the READ Foundation Website:
READ Foundation and partners have set up a school in Aleppo, Syria. These children in Syria have experienced war, witnessed the destruction of their homes and been torn apart from loved ones. A total of 70% of Syrian children have experienced a death in the family. The conflict in Syria and the resulting displacement of families is having a massive impact on the mental health of vulnerable young children. What they want more than anything is proper psychosocial support and the chance for normalcy.
Our school in the Aleppo area of Syria is currently providing education to more than 300 children and almost half (45%) are receiving mental health support.
The school also employs 17 staff and all teachers and the headteacher are given support and training to ensure they are able to deliver effective teaching in a disaster scenario. This includes fast evacuation, safety measures and child protection.

Sponsor an Orphan Child in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Gambia or Afghanistan
The following message has been extracted from the READ Foundation Website:
While nothing can replace a lost parent, sponsorships can create an opportunity for an orphan child to go to school, make new friends, and become educated. The sponsorship ensures that orphan children are able to access the same level of schooling as those whose families can afford to.
Each Sponsorship provides an Orphan Child with:
- The school’s fees are paid in full giving the orphan child the opportunity to go to school, learn knowledge, make friends and be themselves again.
- A backpack is provided, containing notebook, pens, pencils, colouring pens, eraser, pencil sharpener, geometry set, and textbooks.
- The child is given full uniform, including a jumper, two shirts, pair of trousers, and two pairs of sturdy shoes, to get them through the year.
- A monthly stipend is provided to the guardian of the orphan to help them fulfil the needs of their child that arise even outside of school.
