The following message is from my friend, who lives in Multan and knows this family for 20+ years:
This 65+ years old widow works in five houses as a maid. In her youth, she used to work as a maid in Kehkashan Army Public School, Multan (KAPS). She has four daughters, who all are married. Her son was a truck driver but due to an accident, he got handicapped and lost his livelihood. She lives in a two-room house with her handicapped son. It was a mud house thus my friend’s mother and her friends gathered donations a few years ago to construct brick walls for the house. Due to the shortage of funds, the roof of the house was made using bamboo. My friend arranged 4/5 LED bulbs for their house to decrease their electricity bill. One daughter lives near-by and takes care of the mother and the handicapped brother.
Due to recent heavy rains in Multan, the bamboo roof has collapsed. She requested for the construction of a concrete roof for her house. My friend checked the prices and found out that IZHAR precast roof is 35% to 40% cheaper than the Girders and T-iron roof and the construction just takes half a day. He will supervise the construction himself. The IZHAR precast roof for two rooms and an open kitchen will cost Rs 70,000 (SAR 1,599) with the following segregation. She is also eligible for Zakat.
- ~ Rs 61,000 for IZHAR precast roof
- Rs 5,000 for mason work
- ~ Rs 4,000 for labor work
