The following message is from my college fellow, who lives in Multan and knows this person personally for many years:
This person lives in Mushtaq Colony, Basti Khudadad, Multan. He used to work as a helper in Shahsons, Multan in 2016 but due to his health issues, he couldn’t continue his regular job and started working as a supplier of confectioneries in surrounding areas. He buys confectioneries of around Rs 5,000 from the wholesale market and supplies those to shops. For this, he is required to travel to the wholesale market every day but due to diabetes, he is unable to travel some days and that adds to his financial situation. Sometimes due to some urgent need, he has to spend part of those Rs 5,000 on some other need and then he is left with less to earn a profit on.
He managed to marry his two elder daughters by taking loans. Currently, he has a college-going son and two school-going kids but there is no proper daily/monthly income. My college fellow has been helping this family on and off but was no more in contact for the past year. Last month, the person has contacted and informed that he was in dire need of financial aid and requested help. He lost his livelihood during the COVID-19 lockdown. He received aid from the government once in the whole year.
He requested if Rs 8,000 per month can be arranged for the education of his children or if a one-time Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 can be arranged for his already running business of vendorship. He will use this amount to purchase supplies in bulk, which will help him in getting a better rate. He will not have to visit the wholesale market every day thus travel expenses will be saved and those days can be survived when his health doesn’t allow traveling. More supplies also mean he will be able to earn more profit.
We have opted for the second option to help him as that will be a one-time donation, that can help him continue on his own in the future. Thus financial support of Rs 60,000 is requested. He is also eligible for Zakat. His direct contact information is available if someone would like to meet him directly.
If you would like to donate any money then it will be transferred to my college fellow’s bank account. Donations can be made in my Bank Account in Pakistan or PayPal (https://paypal.me/urShadow), jazakAllah
