Update (30-07-20): Alhumdulillah, Rs 361,000 have been collected and transferred to my cousin’s friend’s account. She was able to gather another Rs 139,000 thus a total of Rs 500,000 has been gathered. She then talked to Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Ali Siddique, Medical Superintendent, Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology for some concession in the original required amount of Rs 550,000.
He has agreed to try his best to accommodate this case and the surgery will be scheduled between 9th and 15th August 2020. They will inform the exact date soon. The advantage of having the surgery from Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology is that the post-surgery medicine will be free of cost.
My cousin’s friend had been trying to gather this amount for the past 6 months thus she was very happy and was extremely thankful to all the donors. JazakAllah khair for your contributions.

The following message is from a friend of my cousin, who lives in Islamabad and has been supporting this family for past 6 months:
This is a 19 years old orphan girl. Her mother is a housemaid, working in three houses to make ends meet. One of those houses belongs to a relative of the friend of my cousin. This mother and daughter live in a small rented room in Rawalpindi, which cost them Rs 5,000 per month. Her brother is a drug addict. He does not live with them and rarely visits them.
At the start, they couldn’t find the actual disease and the mother kept on selling everything she had for the treatment. The only assert the mother was left with were small gold earrings, which belonged to her mother but those were sold as well in the lockdown to survive. This girl has been diagnosed with a rare heart disease, where she cannot walk for more than 15 steps at a time.
Prof. Dr. Kamal Saleem, Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology can perform the required surgery. The friend of my cousin has been donating money for medical checkups and she tried to arrange the required amount for the surgery from Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal but she couldn’t succeed as the NIC of this girl is from KPK and the doctor is not willing to take up a case from Bait-ul-Mal money. She also brings the girl to her house for taking care of her when her medical condition deteriorates further.
The amound required for the surgery is Rs 550,000 (SAR 12,520). She is eligible for Zakat.
If you would like to donate any money then it will be transferred to my cousin’s friend’s bank account. Donations can be made through any of the following channels:
