The following message is from a friend, who lives in Multan and knows this family:
This cancer patient is an old mother with 12 children. She lost her husband to cancer and the treatment was very expensive for them. Now she herself has been diagnosed with cancer. Her eldest son is 27 years old, who is trying to take care of her and his 5 sisters and 6 brothers. He and his brothers are working as laborers. Two sisters are working as housemaids in Lahore. Three sisters are living at home with the mother. None of them have taken any formal education.
My friend is arranging trainings of electrician and welding for the brothers so that they can improve their income. The sisters at home know stitching work but don’t have any equipment thus my friend is arranging two stitching machines and other tailoring equipment for the sisters. He also arranged blood donation and transportation for them for the treatment.
They took their mother to Lahore and sold their 4 marlas house to bear the expenses but due to the lack of exposure, they were misguided on multiple occasions. The cancer was diagnosed at Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital in Lahore and the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital referred their case to MINAR (Multan Institute Of Nuclear Medicine And Radiology). My friend used his reference to guide them to proper treatment in MINAR. They are looking for financial support of Rs 147,585 (SAR 3,374) for the following. They are eligible for Zakat.
