The following message is from my cousin in Rawalpindi, who is in contact with this lady:
My cousin saw a news report about this lady and then searched and found her to provide ration during the Ration Distribution Project. She was featured on Abb Takk News and Samaa News but she could not get any financial support. Her husband was a taxi driver but he is bedridden since January 2020 due to kidneys’ disease. Their rented taxi got stolen, which was their only source of income. She lives in a small rented house along with her sick husband and 12 years old daughter, 5 years old daughter and 2 years old son. Unable to bear her kids’ hunger, she looked for work and started selling potato bread (allu paratha), that didn’t work, then she started selling masks, that didn’t work as well, then she started selling fruits in Islamabad to make her ends meet. She is hardly able to sell 20 dozens bananas every day.
Every day, she drags her rented fruit cart on foot for more than 40km for a round trip to Islamabad. CDA does not let her settle and also took away her measuring scale, which cost her Rs 2,000. She is also trying to afford her kids’ education, which cost her Rs 6,000 per month. Some people have been kind and have been buying from her regularly but some have been disturbing her and have been following her to her house. She has been looking for financial support to establish a small shop near her house or a pickup car to establish a mobile fruit and drinks shop so that she can support her family in a better way. She knows how to drive.
My cousin has been trying to arrange donations for her business but that has not materialized yet. He has donated her Rs 5,000 twice to support her since Ration Distribution Project. He is also trying to arrange for the treatment of her husband. Recently she has requested financial support to pay off her debt, which she took with interest during COVID-19 lockdown. She has been paying the interest but was unable to pay off the actual debt of Rs 30,000 (SAR 683). She is eligible for Zakat as well.

If you would like to donate any money then it will be transferred to my cousin’s bank account. Donations can be made through any of the following channels:
- In cash to me
- Via STC Pay (Instructions)
- In my KSA Bank Account
- In my Pakistani Bank Account
