[Completed] – Request for Donations for the Treatment of a Sugarcane Juice Seller in Multan

This young sugarcane juice seller had an attack of severe cough, which made him bedridden. Since March 2020, his treatment and medicine expenditure was supported by another donor as part of Monthly Donation for Medical Expenses for the Underprivileged project. His treatment revealed that he had developed some kind of food allergy. Efforts were made to find the source of the allergy by leaving various food items from his diet. The treatment and medicine helped him recover for a month and he was able to resume his work and was also able to pay off some of his debts but the severe cough returned and he got bedridden again.

The doctor in Multan recommended him to visit his brother-in-law in Allergy Center – National Institute of Health Islamabad for allergy testing. Due to this reference, his tests were conducted immediately. The tests revealed that he had developed an allergy from red chillis and white flour. He has to leave these items from his diet. He has been prescribed vaccine and he has to visit Allergy Center – National Institute of Health Islamabad for checkup and change in the vaccine every month for the next 3 months. He is expected to fully recover after 6 months.

The doctor has recommended him to work only 4 hours per day for the next 3 months. He is hopeful to earn Rs 400 to Rs 1,200 per day from selling sugarcane juice. He has a wife and three years old son and he lives in a small rented house. He is looking for financial support of Rs 50,000 (SAR 1,162) for the following, he is also eligible for Zakat:

• Rs 13,000 were spent on his treatment.
• Rs 10,000 for medicine for the next 6 months.
• Rs 15,000 for the next three visits to Allergy Center – National Institute of Health Islamabad.
• Rs 12,000 for resuming his work of sugarcane juice selling.
